A Psychiatric Nurse is a professional who provides the care to the patients related to their Psychological state or with their mental health. He is an expert who has enough potential to read the human mind and also supply the proper treatment for any problems related to the psychology. He is responsible for all types of treatment related to the nerves and mind.

Here, in my article, I am going to supplement you with various questions and answers which may be asked by the interviewer regarding the Psychiatric Nurse while you will go to face the interview.

1. What is the minimum qualification needed for the Psychiatric Nurse?
Well sir, a Psychiatric Nurse must have MBBS degree and MD degree from the recognized college. There must be an experience of at least few years in the field of Psychology and an excellent skill in the area of mental health management.

2. If you could give a chance to change one thing to improve the working environment for the nurses, what would it be?
Well sir, I would like to investment in the equipments and ergonomics to allow safe legroom to work in and supply enough equipment to allow every patient the care and the proper treatment that should be the demand of the patients.

3. Tell me about an ethical dilemma in which you were involved and how did you able to handle it?
Sir, in the early period of my career as a psychiatrist I was appointed as a trained general nurse for the patient needed a Nasogastric tube passing.  The senior staff wanted me to do it with an audience for nurses to teach them however, I felt this was not conducive to psychiatric care so refused. That really had me down as a trouble maker.  I offered to teach using one of them but funnily enough they refused that offer.

4. What do you mean by Psychiatric Medication?
Well sir, Psychiatric Medication is a commonly used intervention and in this many psychiatric mental health nurses are involved in the administration of medicines, both in oral in the form of tablet or liquid or in the form or by intramuscular injection. Nurses use to monitor for the side effect and response to these medical treatments by using assessments.

5. What do you mean by Electroconvulsive Therapy?
Well sir, Electroconvulsive Therapy is the treatment used by Psychiatric mental health nurses and this support with the preparation and recovery from the treatment, which involves an anesthesia. This treatment is only used in a tiny proportion of cases and only after all other possible treatments have been exhausted. It helps as a remainder having another mental disease such as schizoaffective disorder and mania or schizophrenia.
